The team consists of faculty members and researchers from the University of the Philippines Mindanao and UPSTREAM Foundation, Inc. Their expertise and disciplines range from Agrifood Systems, Food Science and Technology, Predictive Analytics, Decision Analysis, to Supply Chain and Marketing.

The core team is lead by Luis Antonio Hualda who serves as the Principal Investigator. He is assisted by the other three core members namely, Vladimer Kobayashi (Data Scientist), Marilou Montiflor (Social Scientist), and Jakie Lou Tagubase (Food Technologist).

The UP Strategic Research and Management (UPSTREAM) Foundation, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit corporation duly organized and existing since November 7, 2001, under the laws of the Philippines. Its principal office is at the School of Management, UP Mindanao, Mintal, Davao City.
The University of the Philippines Mindanao (UP Mindanao) is a public research university, serving as the sixth constituent unit (CU) of the University of the Philippines System. UP Mindanao was created through Republic Act 7889 on February 20, 1995. It is the only CU of the UP System that was created through legislative action.
